Ripping Lee/Lily's drawings
I briefly looked through the Pokémon Art Academy files and it appears that all the graphics for each lesson are stored either as FAB or FABTEX files. They're likely in a proprietary format and I haven't had any luck finding a took that could convert them to PNG or even JPG. Is there a solution to this that I'm overlooking, or could a screenshot with everything else cropped out suffice? --Jaminux (talk) 01:36, 5 September 2022 (UTC)
Hey, thanks for letting us know about those files. At least in my opinion, it would be OK to upload the lesson graphics from screenshots. That is basically what we see when playing the game, I suppose. On the other hand, if we found a way to convert those images from FAB/FABTEX files, maybe that would be easier than taking screenshots, right? I also wonder if those internal files may or may not have a higher quality than screenshots. If we upload images from screenshots now, but in the future discover that the internal files have a higher quality, we may think about replacing screenshot images with the internal files. Whenever possible, I would be also curious to know if there are any unused images in the Pokémon Art Academy data. As in, maybe there could be some lesson graphics stored in those FAB/FABTEX files that don't appear in normal gameplay. --Daniel Carrero (talk) 14:10, 5 September 2022 (UTC) I think screenshots could definitely be replaced with the ripped images if they do turn out to be higher-quality. As for unused content in the game, all I can do as of now is speculate based on what the files are named. So far, the only thing I can see is that some things are named differently in the files than they are in the game, opening up the possibility that their names were changed in the final game (the Finale lessons are called Exams in the files, for example). If/When I do find a way to view them, I'll see if there are any unused graphics that could be uploaded. --Jaminux (talk) 00:19, 7 September 2022 (UTC)ncG1vNJzZmiapaGvorzEnaCaZpKquaOtxpqpnZ2eY7umwI6woKShX4murbeZhaClsY9djrPAvnqampyVosZq
