Hyperspace Fury (move) - Bulbapedia, the community-driven Pokmon encyclopedia

From Bulbapedia, the community-driven Pokémon encyclopedia.

Hyperspace Fury (Japanese: いじげんラッシュ Interdimensional Rush) is a damage-dealing Dark-type move introduced in Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. It is the signature move of Hoopa Unbound.

Effect

Hyperspace Fury inflicts damage, then lowers the user's Defense stat by one stage. It bypasses accuracy checks to always hit, unless the target is in the semi-invulnerable turn of a move such as Dig or Fly.

It will also hit the target even if it is protected by Protect, Detect, Spiky Shield, King's Shield, Mat Block, or Baneful Bunker, and lifts the effects of those moves for the remainder of the turn; if it hits a target that is protected by Mat Block, it removes Mat Block from the target's side of the field. It also removes the effects of Quick Guard, Wide Guard, and Crafty Shield from the target's side of the field. It hits through a substitute.

Hyperspace Fury can only be successfully used by Hoopa as Hoopa Unbound (or a Pokémon that has transformed into Hoopa Unbound). If this move is used by any other Pokémon (including via Assist or Sleep Talk), the move will fail, even during Pokémon Contests. If using the move as a Pokémon other than Hoopa, the battle text "But <Pokémon> can't use the move!" will be displayed; if used by Hoopa Confined, the battle text "But Hoopa can't use it the way it is now!" will be displayed.

Generation VIII

Hyperspace Fury cannot be selected in a battle.

Generation IX

Starting in Version 3.0.0 of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, Hyperspace Fury can no longer be copied by Sketch.

Other effects

Hyperspace Fury does not exist in the game data of Pokémon X and Y. As a result, a Pokémon knowing Hyperspace Fury cannot be traded from Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire to Pokémon X and Y, and if a Pokémon in Pokémon Bank knows the move, it cannot be withdrawn in Pokémon X and Y. In order to be transferred to Pokémon X and Y, the Pokémon must forget Hyperspace Fury.

In Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, if Hoopa Unbound knows this move and is changed into Confined form, Hyperspace Fury will be forgotten and replaced with Hyperspace Hole.

Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series

When Hoopa is Hoopa Unbound, the move replaces Hyperspace Hole. Unlike in the core series games, using the move does not lower the user's Defense stat. The move will already be at maximum power and starts at 13 PP (though the base PP is coded as 5).

Pokémon UNITE

In Pokémon UNITE, Hyperspace Fury is Hoopa's first move when transformed into its Unbound form. The user unleashes 7 attacks in the designated area with its many arms, dealing damage to enemies in the area of effect and leaving them unable to act for 1s.
